Ms. Taylor, a Harvard trained brain scientist, experienced a massive stroke when she was only 37 years old. The book tells of her experience and the insight that she gained.
Although I found Ms. Taylor’s story fascinating, and her book on my “must read” list, this is not a book review, so I’ll get to the point (or try to. I tend to digress).
One of the things that stood out to me in the interview with Oprah was that Jill (okay… we’re on a first name basis now) talked about the energy that people brought with them into her room.
She felt so strongly about it that she made a sign to hang on the outside of her door that said, “You are responsible for the energy that you bring into this room”. I mean… really! How true!
When we are recovering and/or healing (or any time, really), it seems incredibly important to surround ourselves with positive energy.
If I were a tattoo kind of gal, I think this is so major that I’d have a tattoo on my forehead that says, “You are responsible for the energy that you bring into my life.”
If I had enough room, I’d add, “so ‘happy up’ or move on”. (but my forehead is not quite that large)
For now, I’ll be mindful of the energy that I bring to people – to places – to life.
Do you feel the energy that people bring when they visit you? If so, how does it affect you?
Sending you positive energy!
